Father, it has been three days since
my last beer.
I watch too much television
hours and hours of sports,
including presidential politics,
biggest game of all.
I subscribe to too many magazines,
that damn New Yorker,
forgive me Father,
comes every week
but I just read the cartoons.
Got a big race coming up
but I can’t really make myself
go out in the heat.
