Squirrels On Meth

Addiction begins with the hope that something ‘out there’ can instantly fill up the emptiness inside. – Jean Kilbourne

Mr. Paulk (left) and the squirrel remain on the loose at this time.

The old man almost spit up his morning coffee. Right next to the missed yet again lottery numbers, a small headline blared ALABAMA MAN FED METH TO CAGED “ATTACK SQUIRREL.”

His first thought was, well, at least it wasn’t a Florida man.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — An Alabama man wanted on drug and weapons charges has posted a video denying he fed methamphetamine to a so-called “attack squirrel” that he considers a pet.

Mickey Paulk posted the video on his Facebook page Tuesday night as authorities continued searching for him. It shows him stroking a rodent that he indicates was the same one seized during a search and then released by authorities.

“You can’t give squirrels meth; it would kill ’em. I’m pretty sure, (but) I’ve never tried it,” he said.

He said the squirrel, which he kept as a pet, was safe and not a threat to anyone.

“The public isn’t in danger in any kind of way from the methed-out squirrel in the neighborhood,” Paulk said with a laugh.

Stephen Young, a spokesman for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, said Wednesday investigators were still looking for Paulk, 35, who has an extensive criminal record.

“Yes, we’re aware of the video,” he said. “And yes, that’s him in the video.”

Police said they were warned about a meth-fueled, trained attack squirrel before conducting a drug search at a rural home near Athens, Alabama, on Monday. One man was arrested at the home and police said they released the caged squirrel.

In the video, Paulk denied living at the home but said he went there after the raid and saw the pet squirrel in a treetop. The animal scampered down and hopped on his shoulder, he said.

“I just pulled up and whistled,” said Paulk, who is wanted on warrants accusing him of possession of drugs and an illegal weapon.

Deputies released the squirrel in trees near the home, Young said, but there was no way to say whether the squirrel shown in the video is the same one released by officers after the raid.

“We don’t know if he might even have two squirrels,” he said. “It would just be speculation.”

It’s amazing the things people will say when they just can’t say nothing else when they know they were dead wrong and somebody called up there with a bunch of bullshit information to the limestone county sheriff’s department hey, Mr Jaime King decided to execute a search warrant based on bullshit information. In hopes of charging me with a bunch of bullshit. However he found out that I was not at that residence any longer and that might have made him a little bit mad so he decides to go ahead and charge me anyway which possession even though I was not present during a search. Kind of hard to possess something when you’re not even there .. that’s the law.

In order to be charged with possession I must be there . there were no guns found in the home. Only a little bit of dope that was found in someone’s pocket while they were searching the home. I wasn’t there or I would be in jail well apparently it doesn’t matter. I guess if they search Bob’s house the drugs are Joe’s as ling as that’s who they want the drugs if they want the drugs to belong to.

In the squirrel thing, well, that was just one last little effort try to make me the bad guy. just because you wear a badge doesn’t mean you’re not a fucking criminal if you break the law.

When I found out the home and then searched I called the sheriff’s department ask to speak to mister King explained the law to Mr. King in case he was ignorant to it the law states you can’t charge a person unless present during that search the home is not in my name I don’t live at there. I even have paperwork where I moved from there from the landlord. So they let a meth-addicted attack squirrel go on the public.

How you like that, people? Wow really tell you what that squirrel has been bottle-fed I’ve had him since he was a few hours old feeding every 2 hours, raise it like it was my own . hell a newborn child eats 4 hours and sleeps through the night. That little sucker eat every 2 and requires so much more. He does not know how to live in the wild. So all they really did was try to kill him. But I pulled up and whistled and he jumped on my shoulder. He’s a little shook up by the whole incident. The real criminal here the one that’s trying to falsify charges and her little squirrels slander people’s names well it ain’t me.

Have a good day and God bless, y’all

The old man was surprised to learn you could hunt squirrel in Georgia and you can eat squirrel in Georgia, you can run’em over in your car in Georgia but you can’t keep a squirrel as a pet.

Not a problem in Florida.

It is legal to own a squirrel as a pet in the state of Florida, and a permit isn’t required. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission states that a cage for housing two squirrels must be 4 feet wide, 4 feet long and 6 feet high.

With each additional squirrel owned, the cage dimensions must be increased by 25 percent. Florida regulations also require the cage to be outfitted with a nest or shelter box that can house all the animals simultaneously, a raised climbing apparatus, items that provide physical stimulation and something that the squirrels can gnaw on.

Items that provide physical stimulation can include balls, boxing or tubing, while gnawing items can be trees or logs.

How much wood would a drugged squirrel gnaw if a drugged squirrel would gnaw wood?
