GUTTED: Trump Slashes Science, Arts, Health

President Trump’s first budget, titled “America First: A Budget Blueprint to Make America Great Again,” proposes deep, sweeping cuts to government-funded scientific and medical research—and would eliminate federal support for the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities outright.

“While many expected cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency and Energy Department, the breadth of the moves come as a shock, including the slashing of agencies that have long enjoyed bipartisan support. Among them: a proposed $6 billion cut to the National Institutes of Health, or one-fifth of its 2016 budget. The NIH sends about 80 percent of its budget to 300,000 outside researchers, meaning the dramatic cuts would send shockwaves across the scientific community more broadly.

“Other science programs will be terminated completely, including a NASA satellite program that monitors solar storms and Earth’s climate, the EPA’s program to clean up the Chesapeake Bay, and the accident-probing arm of the Chemical Safety Board. The Trump plan would also “end federal involvement” with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

“With the EPA cuts alone, some 3,200 jobs would be eliminated. “You can’t drain the swamp and leave all the people in it,” White House Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney told reporters, the Post reported.”

Really, let’s be honest here, what’s more important, ask yourself, tax cuts for The Rich or research to end cancer?  No, really, more secret drone attacks with bigger bombs or pre-natal care?  Can we not agree.

You can’t cut almost a billion dollars in Medicaid and not think you won’t have to drive Grandma deep out into the country and drop her off by the side of the road.  Like a dog who won’t hunt.  Or just drown her at home like a kitten.

Goes without saying, makes more sense to spend a million dollars on one soldier than give twenty grand to fifty artists.  That’s just math.

Like access to health care.  How can you say there’s not enough, two drug stores at every major intersection.  Other planets and countries don’t have that anywhere.

Do we want a gigantic multi-billion dollar wall to keep hordes of brown hombres and bad muchachas and little gang members from pouring into the homeland and taking our jobs taring roofs in August?  Or the Coast Guard.  What the hell does the Coast Guard do anyway?

Turns out radical Muslim terrorists are poor swimmers.  Just keeping his campaign promises.

Sure, Meals on Wheels sounds like a good idea, but it’s not mentioned in the Constitution.  When those sick old people get hungry enough, they’ll find a way.  There are three phases, remember.

Yeah.  Delivery.  Cat food.  A skinny death.

Would you rather be safe or free?

And why do I feel like the future holds neither?

But I thought we would be ridding ourselves of odious reptiles, not clean air and water.  That’s what I thought.  Don’t blame me.

Anyway, I watched POTUS rouse the white faithful.  On all the cable news channels.  He’s still campaigning, they’re still chanting “lock her up.”

Well lit in an airplane hangar surrounded by somebody else’s classic car collection.

Still pondering how such a loser can be such a winner or how such a winner can be such a loser.

And I couldn’t help wondering, why is Mr. Trump afraid to release his tax returns?

What is he so frightened of?  That’s all anybody is talking about.

Wherever you go, people are asking, what’s he hiding?  What’s he hiding?

What’s he hiding?  That’s all you hear.

There’s this Gigantic BUZZZZ, why is Trump so scared?

A major hum is building.   And building.

You can almost see the fear on his face.
