That Gets Me Thinking

The old man had the patience of a Marine sniper.  For example, his chronograph had been an hour behind since Spring and sometime real early one Fall Sunday morning, everybody else finally fell back in line.

He was also stubborn.  If you are born round, you don’t die square.

You can go to the movie or you can be the movie.

Sometimes he thought, I am the old shell of a young nut.  Not a bad thing.  Just a thing.

If forced to do it all over again, I think I would be more monastic.

He had that “still alive” quality his wife adored.  But he tired.

Sometimes you can convince yourself, just super just the way you are.  So why work harder to get better.

Because when you are not working harder, you are falling apart faster.  Just remember to rest.  He tired.

What is mobility?  What is freedom?  What is life?

For the athlete, I am thinking one answer is how far and how fast can you move under your own power.
And still look good doing it.
That last part getting real difficult.
