The political environment of today seems to be infectious and not in a good way. Makes me ill and I am too old to get sick.
First of all, the United States of America is not a democracy. We have basically become a Broadway show, covered like a sporting event. And I refuse to play the game.
Actual democracy, without gerrymandering, voter suppression, Citizens United – oh, how ironic… My fucking home owners’ association is out of control! And it doesn’t get better at the county or state level.
Hilary does something that looks hinky and wears the stain forever. Most of the rest get caught actually doing wrong and we get oh, boys will be boys.
Did you watch any of the Republican debate last night, whenever? Looked like a food fight in the middle school cafeteria. Jeff Spicoli and Ferris Bueller face off against Bozo The Clown.
You have the son of immigrants endorsed by the daughter of immigrants and a son of immigrants arguing with a nationalist married to an immigrant arguing against a man born in Canada and the anointed who just quit is married to an immigrant. And these people are anti-immigration.
The wall just got ten feet higher. And you are building it about five hundred years too late.
Heard some pundit refer to JEB! as a “legend.” And the chorus goes Oh, how ironic… because legends aren’t true. And legends are best served cold.
So, what I am asking, outside this house, what the fuck can I believe to be real and true?
These bastards have finally turned me into a conspiracy theorist. No other explanation makes any sense.
Teachers are not the problem in education. Unions are not why we have lost so many good-paying jobs. Government is not the problem. Corporations are not people. Money is not speech. Greed is not good.
Climate change is real and global warming is the apocalypse in slow-mo.
